Here are some of the major book projects CHC has already helped launch in the past:
HALFTIME:Fifteen years ago, author Bob Buford started a national discussion with the publication of HALFTIME, a seminal work that came from Buford's personal journey from professional success to personal significance. Widely embraced by leaders worldwide, the book gave rise to a movement that allowed the successful to evaluate their lives, often around time they hit 50, and make changes to their lives and their life's work that considered the lasting mark they wished to leave behind. This winter, the book will be reissued (Zondervan; January, 2009; hardcover) with a new forward by bestselling business author Jim Collins along with a new volume of Buford's daily musings. BEYOND HALFTIME: Practical Wisdom for Your Second Half (Zondervan; hardcover; January, 2009) is Buford's report from the front lines of living the life that his first book inspired for so many.
The time has never been better for Buford's message of taking stock and making time for doing what matters. Not only are baby boomers swelling the ranks of the 50+ population, but Generation Y is also entering the workforce and this group highly values fulfillment. Recent studies of MBA students show a seismic shift -- no longer do the majority put making money at the top of their list; but rather they have been shown to value careers that allow them both work/life balance AND a chance to do work that makes a difference. Together, these audiences are ripe for Buford's message.
